 THE JOMAG TAKE #012

Business as it really is.

Strong Leaders Cry Too 😪. We Just Hide It Well.

Strong leaders cry too.

We just don’t do it on stage.

We don’t do it in meetings.

We don’t do it where people expect us to be strong.

We do it in private.

We do it in our “home.” Not always a place but a space where we’re allowed to be human again.

There’s a song that makes me cry because it tells the truth leaders rarely say out loud.

It talks about a warrior, someone who keeps winning, keeps standing, keeps fighting.

People see the armor.

They see the victories.

They call him strong.

What they don’t see is what happens after the battle.

They don’t see him go “home”.

They don’t see him put the sword down.

They don’t see him cry, just for a while.

That’s leadership.

From the outside, leaders look unbreakable.

Inside, we absorb pressure, fear, disappointment, and responsibility every single day.

We carry:

- the weight of decisions that affect other people’s lives

- the fear of getting it wrong

- the loneliness of being the final call

- the losses and failures

- the mistakes we make

- the words and actions that hurt us

And we’re expected to carry it quietly.

So yes, we, me we  sometimes we cry.

Not because we are weak.

But because we are tired of being strong all the time.

Here’s the part people misunderstand:

Crying is not quitting.

Retreating to heal is not failure.

Even the best armor gets heavy.

Even the strongest soldiers need a place to rest.

Strong leaders don’t break down publicly, but they do break open privately.

They go to:

a trusted person

a quiet room

a prayer

therapy

reflection

solitude

They go “home”.

Because if you don’t allow yourself a place to fall apart safely,

you will eventually fall apart unsafely, in anger, burnout, numbness, or cruelty.

The most dangerous leaders are not the ones who cry.

They are the ones who never allow themselves to.

Because the uncried tears tell their story later—

in harsh decisions,

in emotional distance,

in leaders who forget how to be human.

There is a child inside every warrior.

Not childish.

Human.

And that child needs safety, rest, and care, so the warrior can stand again tomorrow.

JOMAG VERDICT

Strong leaders cry too.

The difference is they know where to heal, so they don’t bleed on others.

Where do you go to cry? Where is this quiet place or “home”.
