Health insurance aggregator Maria Health introduces three new board members


Maria Health, the largest and only online health insurance aggregator in the Philippines, welcomes Jose Magsaysay Jr., Henry Lim, and Jason Gaisano as its newest board members. 


Since its inception in 2015, Maria Health’s mission has been to provide Filipinos with easy access to health insurance plans. While it started with small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs as its primary market, Maria Health has expanded to having individuals, families, and the prepaid segment as 50% of their clients. 


With Maria Health catering to 30,000 insured members, the three new board members will ensure its growth and expansion with their substantial experience in micro, small and medium enterprises or MSME sector and vision in addressing the country’s need for accessible healthcare. 


Jose "jomag" Magsaysay Jr. is credited with the revitalization of Potato Corner, earning him numerous awards, including the Franchise Excellence Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Entrepreneur Award of the Year in 2016, among many. He joined the board upon seeing the potential of Maria Health to grow to a worldwide scale. 


Joining him on the board is Henry Lim, the Chairman, and CEO of the leading commercial producer of rice seeds in the Philippines, SL Agritech. He currently promotes hybrid rice technology to the Philippines and Asian countries to address hunger. He joined Maria Health with the goal of helping more people have easy access to healthcare.


Jason Gaisano is the co-founder of Core Capital, a firm that invests in startups and resolves logistics and e-commerce issues through working with tech companies. He advocates for democratized and accessible healthcare to all Filipinos, citing this as his reason to join the Maria Health board. Additionally, he believes in investing in healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship. 


Maria Health looks forward to working towards its vision of providing accessible, affordable, and reliable healthcare to more Filipinos.
